| Info-hotels-online, is a subsidiary of Infotours Inc., a
Canadian company founded in Montréal, in 1997. Infotours specialises in developing
software programs and Internet solutions that simplify the work of the travel agents.
In 1997, the company launches Infotours, its first software
program, offering then 500 pages of useful information on 32 sun destinations. The agent
was able to print approximately 20 pages of information on a chosen destination, customise
the document under the logo of its travel agency and add it to the client's ticket jacket
along with its plane tickets. At the end of 1997, Infotours has approximately 75 clients
located in the Montréal area.
In 1998 and 1999, Infotours raises the content of its
program to 1,400 pages of useful information on 134 international destinations. At the end
of 1999, Infotours totals approximately 350 clients, all in the Province of Québec,
Canada.
In early 1999, Infotours launches Info-Hotels, its second
software program, offering then 1,200 pictures and descriptions of close to 100 hotels
located in 25 sun destinations (approximately 12 pictures per hotel).
Since Info-Hotels displays more pictures per hotel than any
tour operator's brochure, the travel agent is therefore in a better position to help its
clients. It also allows the agent to familiarise with new hotels yet not visited on FAM
trips or personal travel, and facilitate any sale.
In 1999 and 2000, Infotours adds 5,000 new pictures to its
program and by the end of 2000, totals more than 6,500 pictures on more than 300 hotels
located in 39 sun destinations. Presently, each hotel offers an average of 22 photos, 10
more than it was offering in 1999.
During that same period of time, the number of travel
agencies using the Infotours and Info-Hotels programs has raised from 350 to 650. Our
client base has now spread across Canada, from Halifax to Vancouver.
In January 2001, following numerous requests from our
clients, Infotours introduces Info-hotels-online.com. Offering the best four pictures and
descriptions of each hotel in its Info-Hotels program, this E-brochure may be linked to
the website of travel agencies wishing to offer a visual content to their clients and
therefore simplify the sales of their leisure packages to Net surfers and clients visiting
their website.
In June 2001, more than 2,000 new pictures were taken in
150 hotels located in Paris and will be added to Info-Hotels and to
Info-hotels-online.com.
